Most flooring brands are strong in one category and fill out the rest. Euro Style is unusual in covering all three of the categories a renovation actually chooses between — engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl and laminate — with enough depth in each that you can floor a whole home from one supplier and keep the look consistent from room to room. We list 135 Euro Style floors, from $1.99 per sq ft up to $8.29, and this guide sets out what separates each series so you can pick the right one for each room rather than the first one you like the colour of.
1. The Euro Style range at a glance
The three categories overlap in look but not in price or performance. That is the practical advantage: you can run a 14 mm oak through the living areas, a 12 mm laminate in the bedrooms and a waterproof vinyl in the bathrooms, and the scheme still reads as one.
| Category | Floors | Price / sq ft | Waterproof | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Engineered hardwood | 41 | $4.79 – $8.29 | No | Living areas, resale value |
| Luxury vinyl | 53 | $2.09 – $4.49 | Yes | Bathrooms, basements, rentals |
| Laminate | 41 | $1.99 – $4.09 | Resistant | Bedrooms, busy family rooms |
2. Engineered hardwood
Euro Style's engineered hardwood is real oak and hickory bonded to a stable multi-ply core. The core is what makes it suitable for Canadian homes: solid hardwood moves with the seasonal swing between dry winter heating and humid summers, and engineered construction resists the cupping and gapping that follow. Five series make up the range.
| Series | Thickness | Wear layer | Width | Price / sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signature Collection | 14 mm | 3 mm | 7-1/2" | $5.79 – $8.29 |
| La Foret Collection | 14 mm | 3 mm | 7-1/2" | $6.09 – $6.89 |
| Signature Herringbone | 14 mm | 3 mm | 4.4" | $6.59 |
| Novabelle XL | 12 mm | 1.5 mm | 7-1/2" | $5.39 |
| Novabelle Classic | 12 mm | — | 5" | $4.79 |
The wear layer is the number to compare
Thickness gets the attention, but the wear layer — the depth of real wood above the core — decides how long the floor lasts. Signature, La Foret and Signature Herringbone all carry a 3 mm wear layer, enough to sand the floor back to fresh wood and refinish it, realistically two or three times over its life. Novabelle XL's 1.5 mm layer is a sound floor at a lower price, but plan on screening and recoating it rather than sanding it.
Signature is the flagship and the largest series, and the only hardwood series with hickory — Austin, Austin Light, Baltic, Cherryville, Nashville and Newcastle — alongside its oaks. Hickory is harder and more strongly figured than oak, which suits rustic and cabin-style interiors and hides wear better. Signature also spans three price points from $5.79 to $8.29, so the same 14 mm, 3 mm-wear build is available at more than one budget. Novabelle Classic is the entry point at $4.79: a narrower 5" white oak board with a matt lacquer finish that suits smaller rooms and traditional layouts. Signature Herringbone uses the full 14 mm build in 4.4" blocks; allow 10–15% extra for cuts rather than the 5–10% you would on a straight lay.
Every series can be floated or glued as well as fastened — nailed, or stapled on Novabelle Classic. That matters most in condos and basements, where the subfloor is concrete and nailing is not an option.
3. Luxury vinyl
This is the waterproof half of the range and the part most people should be looking at for bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, mudrooms and rental units. The first decision is not colour but construction.
- Click-lock floats over the subfloor, installs quickly, and can be lifted and reused. Good for renovations and DIY.
- Glue-down is bonded to the slab. It is thinner, more stable in rooms with big temperature swings, such as sunrooms and entries, and it is what most commercial specifications call for.
| Series | Format | Install | Width | Price / sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Floor | Plank | Click | 7.6" | $3.19 – $4.49 |
| Organic Tile Design | Tile | Click | 12-7/8" | $3.59 |
| Venice Ultra Core Plank | Plank | Click | 9" | $3.19 |
| Venice Ultra Core Tile | Tile | Click | 12" | $3.49 |
| Venice Grand Tile | Large tile | Glue down | 23-5/8" | $3.59 |
| Venice Grand Wood | Plank | Glue down | 7" | $3.49 |
| Venice Grand PRO | Plank | Glue down | 9" | $2.69 |
| Venice Grand Flex | Plank | Glue down | 9" | $2.09 |
Every Venice series shares a 0.5 mm (20 mil) wear layer. That is a commercial-grade figure — most residential vinyl uses 0.3 mm (12 mil) — and it is the main reason to choose Venice over cheaper vinyl for a hallway, kitchen or anywhere with a dog. Venice Grand Tile is the standout for large rooms: 23-5/8" tiles give a stone or concrete look with very few joints, and like Venice Grand Wood it carries a lifetime residential warranty. Venice Grand PRO adds a fiberglass stabilization layer that keeps the plank flat through temperature swings and carries a lifetime structural warranty — at $2.69 it is the one to specify for offices, retail and rental buildings. Venice Grand Flex at $2.09 is the most affordable vinyl in the range.
The Organic series sits on a thicker rigid core — 8 to 12 mm — which is more forgiving of a subfloor that is not perfectly flat and feels more solid underfoot than thin vinyl.
4. Laminate
Euro Style's laminate runs from the cheapest floor in the whole range to a 30-year-warranted 12 mm board, all click-lock and floating. It resists scratches better than vinyl, which is why it remains a strong choice for bedrooms and family rooms with children and pets. The Atlantic and Norwegian boards are 12 mm, noticeably thicker than the 8 mm laminate that dominates the budget end of the market: thicker laminate sounds less hollow, sits more solidly and bridges small subfloor dips better.
| Series | Thickness | Width | Warranty | Price / sq ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atlantic Collection | 12 mm | 7.6" | 30 years | $3.79 – $4.09 |
| Organic Clever Long Silent | — | 9-5/8" | 20 years | $3.79 |
| Organic Clever Silent | — | 7-11/16" | 20 years | $3.19 |
| Readyfix Lounge | 10 mm | 7.6" | 25 years | $2.59 – $2.99 |
| The Norwegian | 12 mm | 7-3/4" | 25 years | $2.59 |
| The Norwegian GO | 12 mm | 7-3/4" | 25 years | $2.29 |
| The Norwegian SEA | 8 mm | 7-3/4" | 25 years | $1.99 |
The Norwegian GO is the value pick — a 12 mm, FloorScore-certified board at $2.29. The Norwegian SEA at $1.99 is the cheapest floor Euro Style makes, an 8 mm board suited to rentals and quick turnarounds. Atlantic carries the longest laminate warranty at 30 years. Atlantic, The Norwegian and The Norwegian GO are all rated to resist standing water for 48 hours, which covers a spill that is not found until the next day.
Both Organic Clever series are AC5 rated, the top wear class, which suits busy family homes and light commercial use. The Long Silent is the widest board in the range at 9-5/8" and ships in the largest box at 36.96 sq ft, so a large open floor needs fewer boxes and shows fewer seams. Most of Readyfix Lounge is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality, a sensible choice for bedrooms and nurseries.
Remember that laminate is water resistant, not waterproof. For a bathroom or a basement that has ever been damp, choose vinyl.
5. Radiant heat, underlay and warranties
- Radiant heat. Every Euro Style floor we list is approved over embedded hydronic radiant heat, where the pipes are set in a concrete slab or other thermal mass. Follow the maximum surface temperature in the installation instructions and acclimatise the floor before laying it.
- Attached underlay. Venice Ultra Core Plank and Tile come with an acoustic underlay already attached, which saves buying a separate pad. In a condo, confirm the IIC figure your strata requires before ordering — the rule applies to the whole floor assembly, not the product alone.
- Residential warranties. 25 years on the engineered hardwood; 20 to 30 years on the laminate; 25 to 30 years on most vinyl, lifetime on Venice Grand Tile and Venice Grand Wood, and a lifetime structural warranty on Venice Grand PRO.
- Commercial warranties. 10 years on every Venice Grand line — Tile, Wood, PRO and Flex — and 5 years on Venice Ultra Core. These are the lines to look at for offices, retail and rental buildings.
6. Which one suits your room
- Living and dining rooms — Signature or La Foret engineered hardwood. The 3 mm wear layer means the floor can be refinished rather than replaced.
- A feature room or entry — Signature Herringbone.
- Smaller rooms on a hardwood budget — Novabelle Classic at $4.79.
- Bedrooms — Atlantic or The Norwegian GO laminate: warm underfoot, scratch resistant and well priced.
- Kitchens — Venice Ultra Core vinyl. Waterproof, with a 20 mil wear layer for the busiest room in the house.
- Bathrooms and laundry rooms — Venice Ultra Core Tile or Venice Grand Tile.
- Basements on concrete — any Venice or Organic vinyl, or glue-down Venice Grand for the most stable result.
- Condos — Venice Ultra Core, for the attached acoustic underlay, once you have checked your strata's IIC requirement.
- Offices, retail and rentals — Venice Grand PRO, or The Norwegian SEA at $1.99 where the budget is tight.
