Unfinished Engineered Hardwood Flooring
Unfinished Engineered Hardwood Flooring — Finished On Site
Unfinished engineered hardwood arrives untreated, ready to be sanded, stained and sealed after installation. You choose the exact colour and sheen, and floors, stairs and trim can be finished together as one continuous surface. Our unfinished range is small and specialised: untreated European oak from Parador, including classic French parquet patterns that are traditionally finished on site.
What we carry
- Parador Louvre parquet — Versailles, Chambord and Cheverny panels plus a matching frame board, in natural European oak supplied untreated for sanding and finishing on site.
- Parador Trendtime 6 Oak Castelao — an extra-long, extra-wide untreated oak plank in rustic grade.
Why choose unfinished engineered hardwood
- Any colour you want — a site-applied stain can match a sample exactly, instead of choosing from a factory colour list.
- Seamless stairs and floors — treads, risers and nosings can be finished at the same time as the floor.
- Engineered stability — a layered core keeps boards stable over concrete and radiant heat, where solid wood struggles.
- Your choice of finish — water-based polyurethane for durability, or hardwax oil for a natural matte look.
Frequently asked questions
How long does site finishing take?
Plan several days after installation for sanding, staining and multiple finish coats with drying time between them. Prefinished floors can be used almost right away.
Do I need a professional finisher?
Yes. Sanding and finish application need an experienced hardwood finisher; poor sanding or uneven finish is hard to correct.
Unfinished or prefinished?
Choose unfinished for custom colour matching, parquet patterns and continuous stair finishes. Choose prefinished for a faster, lower-cost installation with a factory finish.
Can I get a sample?
Yes — order a free sample from any product page, or call us to talk through finishing options.
