Oak Kalahari is a warm golden-honey oak with a rich, sunlit tone and the full rustic character of the Rustikal grade: large open knots, dark mineral streaks and the occasional long crack. The Maradune surface adds gently planed waves along each plank and a deep brushing that opens the grain, and the natural oil plus finish soaks in for a soft matte glow that deepens with age. Maradune (Parador's Trendtime 8 line) is a 13 mm (1/2") three-layer engineered oak with an approximately 3.6 mm (9/64") solid oak wear layer over a solid softwood core, in a 2200 × 185 × 13 mm (86.61" × 7.28" × 0.51") wide plank. Its surface is worked with Parador's SurfaceONE process: long, gently planed waves run the length of each board and a deep full-surface brushing opens the grain, so every plank reads as hand-finished. The natural oil plus finish soaks into the wood for a soft matte look that can be spot-repaired and re-oiled. The Automatic-Click system allows floating installation, full glue-down is also permitted, and the floor is suitable over underfloor heating and cooling with the recommended underlay and moisture barrier.
