Oak Kalahari Smoked is a deep, smoked tobacco-brown oak in which the fuming process darkens the wood right through and leaves the grain as fine, lighter lines and swirls. Rustikal grading brings knots, cracks and strong plank-to-plank variation, the Maradune surface adds planed waves and deep brushing, and the natural oil plus finish keeps the dark colour soft and matte. Maradune (Parador's Trendtime 8 line) is a 13 mm (1/2") three-layer engineered oak with an approximately 3.6 mm (9/64") solid oak wear layer over a solid softwood core, in a 2200 × 185 × 13 mm (86.61" × 7.28" × 0.51") wide plank. Its surface is worked with Parador's SurfaceONE process: long, gently planed waves run the length of each board and a deep full-surface brushing opens the grain, so every plank reads as hand-finished. The natural oil plus finish soaks into the wood for a soft matte look that can be spot-repaired and re-oiled. The Automatic-Click system allows floating installation, full glue-down is also permitted, and the floor is suitable over underfloor heating and cooling with the recommended underlay and moisture barrier.
