Quartz 1400: The Lightest Neutral in the Range
Quartz 1400 is Classic Mystique at its palest — a crystalline off-white with the faintest cool-grey cast, the closest thing the collection offers to a blank canvas. Architects reach for it when the floor needs to bounce light rather than absorb it: north-facing consulting rooms, basement-level labs, retail fit-outs where the merchandise has to be the only colour in the room. The duotone chip decoration keeps it from reading as a flat white vinyl, which is the trap most pale commercial floors fall into. Look closely and there is a fine marbleized movement in the surface; step back and it simply reads as clean, bright and quiet.
A pale floor in a commercial building lives or dies on maintenance, and this is where Quartz earns its place. The cross-linked polyurethane (PUR) surface is cured on at the factory, so soil sits on top of the finish rather than working into it — a damp mop and a neutral detergent is the whole regime. No polish, no annual strip-and-seal, no chalky build-up in the corners that eventually makes a white floor look grey.
Built to Outlast the Fit-Out
Quartz is a homogeneous sheet: the colour is the material, running unbroken through all 2.0mm. There is no printed decor layer to abrade away, so a Quartz floor at year twelve is the same colour it was on day one, and a scratch or gouge reveals more Quartz rather than a dark core. Supplied in 2m wide rolls up to 20m, seams are hot-air welded with matching rod to give a continuous, impervious surface — the reason this construction remains the default specification for operating theatres, pharmacies and cleanrooms.
