Grandeur Flooring is one of the few brands we carry that covers all three main categories well: 3/4" engineered hardwood, a deep vinyl range in both click and glue-down, and 12 mm laminate. It is also one of the brands stocked in Ontario as well as British Columbia, so it suits projects at either end of the country. This guide walks through the ranges, the specs that matter, and which one fits your rooms.
1. Engineered hardwood
Every Grandeur engineered floor we stock is 3/4" thick with a 35-year residential warranty, in European white oak, American oak or North American hickory. What separates the collections is width, wear layer and surface treatment.

Read the wear layer first. At 4 mm, Elite and Sunshine can be sanded and refinished later, which effectively doubles the floor's life. At 3 mm you get a light screen-and-recoat. At 1.2 mm, Scandinavia is built to be lived on and replaced rather than refinished, which is why it costs less.
Hickory (Artisan, Elevation) is harder than oak and shows far more colour variation board to board; it hides scratches well in busy family rooms. European white oak is the calmer, more uniform look that suits most modern interiors.
2. Vinyl: click and glue-down
Grandeur's vinyl range is the broadest of the three, at 91 floors across click and glue-down formats, in widths from 7" to a full 12". Wear layers run from 12 mil to 28 mil.

Click planks float over the subfloor and go down fastest, which is why they dominate home renovations. Glue-down and loose lay sit lower, take rolling loads better and let you replace a single damaged plank, which is why they run through offices, clinics and retail.
3. Aquamate laminate
Grandeur's laminate is 12 mm with a 15-year residential warranty, in three ranges: Aquamate (9-1/2" planks, 23.31 sq ft per box), Aquamate XXL (9.68" planks, 18.86 sq ft) and the 12 Collection (7.63" planks, 16.68 sq ft). Aquamate uses a 5G locking system, so it clicks together without glue.
At 12 mm, these boards feel solid underfoot and quieter than thin laminate, and the water-resistant core handles the spills of a family kitchen. For bathrooms and laundry rooms, choose vinyl instead.
4. Which Grandeur range suits your room
- Main floor you want to keep for 20+ years: Elite or Sunshine engineered hardwood, 4 mm wear layer, refinishable.
- Family home with pets: Artisan or Elevation hickory, or a 20 mil click vinyl if waterproof matters more than real wood.
- Condo: click vinyl or laminate with the right acoustic underlay for your building's IIC requirement.
- Basement: waterproof click vinyl over a dry, flat slab.
- Shop, office or clinic: Ultimate 28 mil glue-down, or Essential and Entrepreneur.
- Feature floor: the Herringbone collection in 5" blocks; order 10–15% extra for the angled cuts.
