Unifloor & AquaFix Flooring Guide: Vinyl, Laminate & Oak (2026)

By Yaletown Floor · Published September 17, 2026 · 8 min read

Unifloor is best known in Canada for AquaFix, its waterproof flooring family, but the brand also makes a serious engineered oak range. This guide separates the two: what AquaFix covers in vinyl and laminate, which collections come with underpad attached, and where the Urban Genius and Prestige Plank hardwood floors fit.

1. AquaFix vinyl: click, glue-down and dry-back

Collection Install Width Wear layer Coverage Pad attached
AquaFix (main click) Click 9" 20 mil 22.28 sq ft 1.5 mm
Harmony Evolved Click 8-5/8" 20 mil 21.45 sq ft Yes
Harmony Series Click 7-1/4" 12 mil 19.22 sq ft Yes
Harmony Elite Click 7-1/4" 12 mil 19.22 sq ft Yes
Luxury Vinyl Series Glue down or loose lay 9" 20 mil 22.50 sq ft
Dryback LVP & LVT Glue down 7" 20 mil 37.33 sq ft

Two practical notes. The click collections arrive with the pad attached, so there is no separate underlay to buy, and you should not add a second layer. The Harmony Elite and Harmony Evolved collections carry a lifetime limited residential wear warranty, and the Luxury Vinyl Series and Dryback collections carry 30 years residential, which is generous for glue-down product.

2. AquaFix laminate

  • AquaFix laminate — 12 mm, 7-3/4" wide, 22.25 sq ft per box, click install, 30-year residential warranty.
  • AquaFix Royal Series — 12 mm, a wider 9-7/16" board, 22.64 sq ft per box. Underlay is not included with this one, so budget for an underlay if you need a sound rating.

At 12 mm both feel solid underfoot, and the water-resistant core handles kitchen and entry spills. For rooms with standing water, use AquaFix vinyl instead.

3. Unifloor engineered oak

Collection Thickness Width Wear layer Species Coverage
Urban Genius 14 mm 7-1/2" 3 mm Oak 30.27 sq ft
Prestige Plank 9/16" 7-1/2" 2 mm Oak 23.32 sq ft
Ideal Classic 12 mm 6-1/2" 1.5 mm Sapele 26.10 sq ft
New Classic 12 mm 5" 1.5 mm Oak 16.40 sq ft

All are multi-ply boards that can be stapled, glued down or fitted tongue and groove. Urban Genius is the flagship: 14 mm thick with a 3 mm wear layer, which means it can be sanded and refinished later. New Classic carries a 25-year limited residential wear warranty and, at 5" wide, suits heritage rooms where a wide plank would look wrong. Ideal Classic in sapele is the one to look at if you want a warmer, redder tone than oak.

4. Which Unifloor floor suits your room

  • Budget bedroom refresh: AquaFix laminate.
  • Main floor in real wood: Urban Genius at 14 mm with a 3 mm wear layer.
