Laminate runs $3.25 to $4.49 per sq ft. Landmark is the one to pick for a busy household: the embossed-in-register surface lines the texture up with the printed grain, which is what makes laminate read as real wood, and it is the only one of the three with a commercial warranty.
3. Why the attached pad matters
- One less purchase: no separate underlay roll to buy or cut.
- Quieter floor: a bonded pad reduces the hollow sound that thin floating floors can have.
- Condo-friendly: it helps the assembly toward the IIC rating most strata boards require. Confirm your building's number and submit the assembly test sheet before installing.
- Do not double up: adding underlay under a plank that already has a pad lets the floor flex, which can damage the locking system and affect the warranty.
